Serve on the Noblesville Main Street Board of Directors
Noblesville Main Street exists to strengthen downtown through economic vitality, historic preservation, and community activation. Our Board of Directors provides the strategic leadership and governance that makes this work possible.
We are always interested in meeting civic-minded leaders who care deeply about downtown Noblesville and are ready to contribute their time, expertise, and influence.
What Board Service Means?
Board members are fiduciary stewards of the organization. This is a governance role — not an operational one.
Board members:
Set strategic direction
Ensure financial sustainability and compliance
Support fundraising and sponsorship growth
Serve as ambassadors for downtown
Uphold Main Street America accreditation standards
Hire, support, and evaluate the Executive Director
We look for leaders who are thoughtful, collaborative, and willing to advocate for the long-term vitality of downtown.
Your Time Commitment
Board service requires consistent engagement.
Expected Commitment:
Monthly Board Meeting (approx. 90 minutes)
Service on at least one committee
Attendance at key annual events
Participation in 1–2 annual planning sessions or retreats
On average, board members invest 5–8 hours per month, with heavier engagement during peak event seasons.

Board members serve staggered terms to ensure organizational continuity. Officers are elected from within the board per our bylaws.
Board composition is intentionally structured to reflect a balance of:
Business owners
Community stakeholders

Downtown representation
Financial & Fundraising Expectations
Board members are expected to:
Make a personally meaningful annual contribution (though your efforts)
Assist in sponsorship development and partner introductions

While there is no fixed “give/get” requirement, board members must actively support the organization’s sustainability.
