Old Post Office Building

Location:
937 Logan Street
History of the Building: A simple rectangle plan defines this two-story brick building. Four bay windows on the second floor correspond to the four ground-floor storefronts. The stone stringcourse above the second floor windows is one of the building's finer features. After the Post Office left the building in 1931, an addition to the west end allowed the building to be used commercially. The building housed Maynard's Beauty Shop, Doctor Black's Office, and Rodney Baldwin's Cobbler Shop. Over time it was also home to a Jewelry store, a drug store, a barber shop, and a pizza place.
