G. C. Murphy Building

 Current Use:

Location:

50 North 9th Street

Year Built:  1880's

History of the Building:

This Italianate 1880s building was known as the G. C. Murphy building and served many years as the local five-and-dime store.  The restoration of the large first floor display windows and second-floor arched windows, in addition to an enhanced exterior paint scheme, make this one of downtown's most handsome buildings.
